Our National and State Parks, National Monuments, National Seashores, and Wildlife Refuges are American and world treasures, set aside by some very forward thinking men and women for the protection of the natural world and for the education and enjoyment of people from around the globe. Many of the folks visiting these areas come from around the world to see the natural world grandeur that America contains.
These people enjoy nature, relish in the wildness of the backcountry, and share a desire to see parts of the world not totally controlled by humankind. Most care deeply for the environment and understand the responsibility we all have toward the earth, to other living things, and to future generations.
